The Wrestling Program at Martial Maxx prides itself on building character and confidence through
technical training and conditioning. Our year round program is designed to teach your children
fundamental skills and values as we prepare them for the many challenges they will face growing
up, both on and off the mats.
Guidance begins with school age children, and if offered well into their teen and college years.
Our dedicated and highly accomplished instructors are well respected for their personal
competitive achievements, in addition to their successes as mentors and coaches to state,
regional and national champions.
The team at Martial Maxx is readily available to evaluate, motivate, and support your child for
recreational or competitive play. Instilling solid work ethics that include good sportsmanship,
maximum effort, and integrity will help your child define and embody personal success at any level
Wrestling is a sport in which leverage, holds, locks and clinches are used to gain control over your opponent. Technical training and conditioning develops character in young men and women so that they can perform and achieve their best on and off the mat.
The Apex Wrestling School comes with premium credibility throughout the tri state area. Many state champions as have been through the Apex regime and there are twice if not three times as many who have received collegiate recruiting exposure, scholarships, and acceptances (many of which have been from Ivy League and comparably accredited institutions).
Judo originated in 1882 in Tokyo, Japan by Professor Jigoro Kano. It became such an effective martial art that in 1964, it became an Olympic sport. Since then, Judo has progressed to being the second most participated sport in the world behind only soccer.
Because of its popularity and effective techniques, other martial arts have been developed using some of the basic principles of Judo, such as Brazilian Ju-jitsu and Russian Sambo.
